Success!!!

So I had completely given up the idea of finding exactly what I was looking for. I mean, I don't have nearly the same resources at hand that the fasion editors of Vogue etc. do when the write those "Splurge vs Steal" articles.
And of course, just when I stopped looking, I found it!! They are almost exactly what I was looking for, at a fraction of the price:
  1. The sassy, crocodile textured deep red leather.
  2. The chic, wrapped platform silhouette.
  3. The comfortable and sexy slingback shape.

The 2 differences are:

  1. The inspiration pair had a black, stacked heel, my heels are also stacked, but in a tan shade.
  2. My heels have a peeptoe, and the inspiration pair did not.

But these difference do not detract for me at all! In fact, I LOVE the peeptoe!! And the other reasons that I fell in love with the Guiseppe Zannotti ones (color/texture/silhouette) are totally on target! It'll the perfect level of personality to that basic black business suit and really kick up the style on the cute pink dress for a night out...

Oh and P.S. these shoes were $114 at Premium Mall in Orlando! :)

My Mission; Should I Choose to Accept...

To find these shoes....!

These gorgeous, red, crocodile skin wrapped platform heels are EXACTLY what I've been searching for. They are the type of heels that can take you from the office to the bar to the club without seeming out of place.

Paired with smart trousers, they are sedate & classic enough to add polish. Worn with a short, slinky dress, they immediately turn sultry with it's vivacious hue.

Unfortunately, :( this pair is out of my reach - hence my mission. To find these shoes, and to still be able to afford those niceties I'm so fond of! :)

This pair is by Guiseppe Zannotti and available for $600.

Wish me luck!! I'll keep you updated regarding the trials and tribulations of this dangerous assignment! ;)

Victoria's Secret Coupon Code

I couldn't help it. I was on a mission to buy myself a peasant top when I saw a cute little substitute. (I was near discouraged at finding one - without looking too off-the-shoulder fiesta or bum-rushed hippie.) Not only did I find that great substitute, I also got myself a great pair of slacks and a bikini set on sale. Use the coupon code FALL08 at check out and receive a certain percentage off your total, but it has to be at least $100.

Coupon Code: FALL08 gives you $15 off $100 , $30 off $150 , $75 off $250 , $150 off $500. The website says it excludes clearance items. I'm not sure how they're categorized, but every piece I purchased aside from the top was a sale item, if not clearance, because the price was so low and I was still able to obtain the discount.

Happy shopping!

Nine West Heathers Shoe on sale!

I've been looking to try something a little different. I'm a bit of a shoe girl nowadays. Actually, just since the last two years. I've gotten to know life beyond foam sandals and slippers. A couple of years back, I graduated, finally, into the world of stilettos. While I still have my trusty pair of slippers for the everyday comfort, I do have a small (but growing) collection of shoes.

After Sex & The City, what girl like me wouldn't pause to dream a little of a shoe haven like hers? I can't afford any Jimmy Choo's but I've been trying to break away from the monotonous style of the sexy vixen stilettos into something more different. Less vampy, but something that still has that kick. And that, my dears, to me... is this love shoe, right here:

Isn't it just darling? Being from California, I kinda sorta miss the months where boots make everything so much better, and this is my compromise. I think it'd go great with some shorts and a loose blouse. Originally $89, this is now on sale for $39.99. You can cop it online, but I saved some on shipping when it just so happened that I was going to be at Ala Moana. They had the shoe right there, but not in the sale section. I almost clapped with glee when I saw it.

Yes, I get like this with shoes. What I like about this shoe is that the heel makes it dressy while the whole gladiator trend took the sexy down a notch. It's a little tough, it's a little spunky, and it speaks for itself. Dress with caution. With a shoe like this, it can be easy to go overboard to match.

The Dutch are Ditching the Thread

Designers in Amsterdam are taking a unique approach to denim these days. Foregoing thread altogether, GlueJeans is opting to just stick the pieces together with adhesive. The ultra strong glue comes in a variety of colors, and the denim itself is in raw form. It creates an awesome look, but I'm still wondering how environmentally friendly glue vs. thread actually is. Judges?

How About Those Gladiators?

So you've seen SJP's shoes in the 'Sex and the City' movie - here is the real, totally drool-worthy, slinkier version of those gladiator heels that just hit the street! And yes, Lena assures me that she has worn these sexy, $750 Choo's 3 times already, so they have literally hit the streets. ;)

These are a fantastic way of adding a little "Carrie-esque" flair to your wardrobe without donning the whole daunting ensemble.

A more casual, but no less sexy alternative, and the ones that I am more likely to be sporting (due to the delightfully affordable price tag of $100!) is this strappy pair from Carlos, by Carlos Santana. These are closer to the Gladiator inspiration with their dark tan hue and brass fittings, and are perfect as an affordable version of the shoes seen the SATC movie, or the ones currently gracing the footsies of Hollywood's elite.
